Masterclasses at

Le Mas d'Arjac

We are delighted to present two courses for singers at the Mas d’Arjac in the Aveyron in September 2021, led by Alison Wells. The first, Masterclass A, is aimed at professional singers and conservatoire-level students. Masterclass B is aimed at experienced amateur singers and will have a slightly different focus.

As a singer and teacher, Alison Wells is particularly interested in finding colour in singing and in using the imagination to connect technique and interpretation.  This course is aimed at serious students and professional singers and will therefore be intensive.

Singers will be accompanied and coached by the highly experienced British pianist and Director of the London Song Festival, Nigel Foster. Movement and acting training will be provided by Peter Bramley, Artistic Director of the award-winning Pants on Fire Theatre Company.

Each day we will work on technique and repertoire, using a variety of approaches tailored to the individual. In addition, each singer will receive two 30 minute individual singing lessons and two 30 minute individual coaching sessions with Nigel. We will present a final concert in the recital room at Arjac on the penultimate evening.

Accommodation is in the lovely cottages around the main house at Arjac, and will be in comfortable, shared rooms.  Full board is provided, and wine with dinner.  Transfers from and to the airport at Toulouse are included, but not the air fare. EasyJet and BA fly to Toulouse on these dates and a return flight is around £60-£100 if booked in advance.

Student numbers are limited and a maximum of 10 places are available on each course.
